3/4/2015 - Transportation department introduces Ohio Alerts text and email alerting system

The Jefferson Area Local School District has a shortage of substitute bus drivers. As a result, we often have to alter or combine bus routes. When bus routes are combined some students will experience delays in pick-up or arrival at home.

In order to improve communication with parents we will start using Ohio Alerts Text & Email Alerting System.

Parents/students can register to receive text or email alerts for their bus at:

Here you can choose to receive updates for the bus that your child rides. If there is a change involving the bus you signed up for you will receive an alert to inform you of possible delays.

Also, due to the lack of substitute drivers our transportation supervisor and mechanic are driving most days. This causes the phone at the Transportation Department (440-576-5732) to go unanswered. If you need immediate attention please call the school or board office (440-576-9180 Ext. 1615).
