Back to School Announcements

Junior High Families, 

As we prepare for another school year ahead, I would like to share a few announcements. 

1) Take advantage of tax-free shopping on eligible school supplies and save as you get ready for the new school year. Ohio's 2026 Sales Tax Holiday runs from Friday, August 7, through Sunday, August 9. Before you head to the store, be sure to check your child's school supply list posted on our school’s website! (https://www.jalsd.org/jhsupplylist)

2) All students will receive free breakfast and lunch this school year. Families no longer need to fill out free and reduced food applications as all students will receive free breakfast and lunch regardless of financial status.

3) Final Forms must be updated every year. Even if there has been no changes, Final Forms still need to be updated and signed. You must update information for each of your children enrolled in school separately. Please complete Final Forms by August 12, 2026. 

4) 7th Grade/New Junior High student orientation will be on August 17 at 5:00pm. The presentation will begin promptly at 5:00pm in the auditorium. Students will be able to walk their schedules, try out their lockers, and meet their teachers. 

5) Student schedules will be visible on Monday, August 10. Should you have any questions about your student's schedule, please contact our school counselor, Rhea Drost, at rhea.drost@jalsd.org

6) We are excited to announce our optional junior high educational trip to Washington, D.C. on May 13, 2027 through May 15, 2027. Students will depart from our school on Thursday morning and will return in the late evening on Saturday. Students will immerse themselves in our nation’s history as they explore monuments, museums, the National Mall, and more! Please stay tuned for an upcoming information session on Tuesday, September 1st at 5:00pm in the Auditorium, but please know that the initial deposit of $150 is due before September 28, 2026. Details on the trip, how to pay, and more will be discussed at the information session.
