Welcome to the 2026–2027 school year!

It is hard to believe that summer is coming to an end for our returning students and that a new academic year is already upon us. I personally look forward to my first full year serving as your superintendent. Regardless of the challenges public education may face, I know that our students, parents, staff, and community will rise together to meet every occasion.

Our dedicated maintenance team has been working tirelessly to prepare all of our buildings, ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for everyone's return. The school district is already actively preparing for the new year as our talented band students and various fall sports teams begin their preparations for an exciting season. The dedication and hard work of our coaches, band director, and students is truly inspiring, and we look forward to supporting them throughout their seasons.

Streamlining Our Communication & Community Engagement

This year, we are excited to introduce a streamlined communication platform for our families and community through ParentSquare. Paired with our updated, user-friendly district website, finding important information will now be easier than ever.

Strong communication between home and school is critical to student success. ParentSquare allows teachers and administrators to connect with families both individually and as a group, unifying our messaging tools across all grade levels and schools. Additionally, this system integrates our community partnerships with local agencies, non-profits, and regional groups. We will use this platform to share valuable community resources, programs, and activities that support our families beyond the classroom.

Another important update to our school and family support efforts is the Board of Education’s adoption of the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) for Food Service. This program allows eligible schools to provide free breakfast and lunch to all enrolled students without requiring household application forms. Simply put, all students in our district will receive free breakfast and lunch every school day.

Priority Focus: Student Attendance

As we begin this school year, we are also placing a strong emphasis on consistent student attendance. Across the state, Ohio has made reducing chronic absenteeism a top priority, emphasizing that every day in the classroom directly impacts student growth, literacy, and graduation rates. When students attend school regularly, they build strong relationships, stay on track academically, and feel more connected to their school community. In alignment with state guidelines, our district is committed to supporting families early to remove barriers to attendance. We ask for your partnership in making daily attendance a routine priority for your child this year.

We look forward to a successful, enriching school year ahead, made even better by working together as one community. Thank you for your continued support!

Sincerely,

Jeremy Huber,  Superintendent
