September Press Release

Jefferson Area Music Department Announces Fall Events

The Jefferson Area Music Department has several upcoming performances and events planned for the fall, including marching band performances, the annual Glow Show, and participation in the OMEA District 5 Honors Choir.

The Jefferson Area Music Department would like to thank everyone who attended the 16th Annual Falcon Band Night. The event was a success and provided an opportunity for marching bands from throughout Ashtabula County to perform for the community. The department appreciates the continued support of the community and everyone who helped make the event possible.

The Jefferson Marching Band will continue its fall performance schedule with the Conneaut Band-O-Rama on Saturday, September 19. The band will also participate in the Homecoming Parade on Friday, September 25, followed by a performance during the Jefferson home football game that evening.

One of the marching band's featured events of the fall will be the annual Jefferson Band Glow Show, scheduled for Tuesday, October 20 at 7 p.m. at Falcon Pride Stadium. During the Glow Show, the stadium lights will be turned off as the marching band performs a specially designed show illuminated with glow sticks and LED lighting. The event offers the community an opportunity to see the marching band perform in a different setting. Admission is free, although donations will be accepted at the gate.

The Jefferson choir program will also be participating in the OMEA District 5 Honors Choir on October 23 and 24. Selected members of the program will join vocal students from schools throughout Ashtabula, Trumbull, and Mahoning counties for the event. The Honors Choir provides students with an opportunity to perform with other vocal music students from across the region.

The Jefferson Area Music Boosters Association (JAMBA) continues to seek volunteers to assist with the concession stand during home football games. Community members, parents, and others who are interested in volunteering are encouraged to contact Fred Burazer at fred.burazer@jalsd.org, who can connect interested individuals with the volunteer coordinator.

The Jefferson Area Music Department has also launched a new online home for information about its programs. Information about the band program can be found at jalsd.org/band, while choir information is available at jalsd.org/choir. Information about the Jefferson Area Music Boosters Association can be found at jalsd.org/jamba.

The Jefferson Area Music Department thanks the community for its continued support and looks forward to sharing these upcoming performances with local audiences.
